About Us

Loyson Consulting is a young, dynamic and passionate tax and accounting firm situated in Port Elizabeth and servicing clients throughout South Africa. Loyson Consulting was formed in 2009 by Richard Loyson. At that time, he only performed taxation services. Due to the demand of accounting services and the growth of the business he was joined by his wife, Claire Loyson in 2012. Richard and Claire Loyson are both CA’s and met at University while studying towards their qualification.

We offer a personalised service to our clients based on a relationship built on integrity and one which incorporates strong moral values and principles. As a firm we strive to give our clients peace of mind and some sort of relaxation when they interact with us as their advisers.

At Loyson Consulting we endeavour to instill a sense of belonging and importance in our clients by placing ourselves in the office of our client.

All work is performed and reviewed by experienced qualified chartered accountants.

Services

Financial Accounting

Compile financial statements for a sole proprietor, partnership, company, CC, trusts and other entities

Prepare and maintain the full accounting record function

Prepare monthly payrolls including payslips for employees

Tax Administration

Assist with the registration for all tax types (income tax/VAT/PAYE/UIF/SDL/DWT)

Assist with the de-registration of tax types

Assist with the efiling of returns linked to tax types

Assist with the application of tax clearances and tax directives

Assist with the emigration of taxpayers

International Tax and Estate Planning

Assistance with the overall wealth strategy with emphasis on wealth protection and planning

Review of current international structure and recommend most efficient structure

Develop strategies to ensure international expansion is achieved in the most efficient structure

Tax Planning and Restructuring

Review current structure of all parties with the emphasis on wealth protection and planning

Implement tax and financial efficient tax structures

Ongoing evaluations and update of tax legislation changes and implementation

Commercial Law

Conduct secretarial duties in establishing, maintaining and termination of Close Corporations, Companies and Trusts (CIPC and MASTER)

Richard Loyson

Richard graduated from the University of Port Elizabeth in 2006 with an Honours degree in Accounting. In 2009 he completed his Masters degree in Taxation and in 2010 qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He commenced his articles in 2007 with the firm PriceWaterHouseCoopers.

During his articles at PriceWaterHouseCoopers, he joined the taxation department and worked there for 2 years. In March 2010, Richard joined Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan University as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Accounting specialising in Accounting and Taxation. Richard lectured for 5 years at honours and masters level and thoroughly enjoyed this experience.

Richard has 12 years experience over a wide range of clients in the auditing, accounting and taxation fields. He is passionate about tax and delivering a good quality researched service to his clients. He specialises in Local and International Tax and his thesis for his Masters was titled “A critical analysis of the income tax implications of persons ceasing to be a resident in South Africa”.

In 2018, Richard was recognised as one of the top 35 under 35 CA’s in the country. Furthermore, in 2019 he was awarded the honours tie from the Port Elizbeth Chartered Accountant Student Society.

Richard is motivated to ensure that he remains up to date with all the technical issues that are presented within the tax field in order to offer the best tax solution to a wide range of his clients. In 2020, he was involved in advising on transactions worth over R 5bn.

On a personal note, Richard enjoys sport such as squash and cricket and spending time with family and friends.

Claire Loyson

Claire graduated from the University of Port Elizabeth in 2006 with an Honours degree in Accounting. In 2010 she qualified as a Chartered Accountant. She commenced her articles in 2007 with the firm Ernst & Young Inc. After completing her articles she stayed on with Ernst & Young Inc as an Assistant Manager for 2 years and thereafter was promoted to Manager. She has since left Ernst & Young Inc to grow Loyson Consulting.

Claire has 12 years experience over a wide range of clients in the auditing, accounting and taxation fields. She has experience in the automotive, pension fund, hotel and building industries. She is passionate about accounting and delivering a good quality service to her clients.

Chartered Accountant

Graham Reynolds

Graham is a chartered accountant with a keen interest in tax. He completed his articles at PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2020. His period of articles included a year of academic articles at Nelson Mandela University within the School of Accounting’s tax department. Graham was retained within the assurance department of PricewaterhouseCoopers and thereafter joined Loyson Consulting in 2021 in a tax consulting role.

Graham has commenced his Masters in Tax at Nelson Mandela University.

Graham enjoys fishing, spending time with family and adventuring with his wife.

Ian Reynolds

Ian joined Loyson Consulting in 2024. Ian studied at NMU and did his articles at PKF. He is a newly qualified chartered accountant and uses his up-to-date technical knowledge to our clients advantage.

Justine Hartman

Justine joined Loyson Consulting in 2014 and acted as a support to Richard and Claire. Since then, she has been instrumental in growing the business. She enjoys building relationships with clients and goes above and beyond what is required of her.

Willem joined Loyson Consulting in 2023 when Loyson Consulting took over the clients of Andrew Riley Accountants. Willem is a VIP payroll specialist as well as a meticulous bookkeeper. Willem has over 25 years of accounting experience!

Jackie joined Loyson Consulting in 2023 when Loyson Consulting took over the clients of Andrew Riley Accountants. Jackie is our front of house and your happy hello when calling or coming into our office.
